The Mountain Chronicle · Chapter 03
"No two families grieve the same way. We have known this for more than a hundred years in the Smokies. Our role is to listen first — then to carry out every wish, every hymn, and every name exactly right."
— The Atchley Family Directors
A complete farewell — visitation, chapel service, and procession to the graveside. Available at any of our three Smoky Mountain chapels. Our staff handles every logistical detail so that your family can simply be present.
A meaningful service that does not require burial. The family may hold a visitation and chapel memorial before or after cremation, with music, flowers, and tributes as desired. Ashes are returned in a selected urn, and personal delivery to the family is included.
For families who prefer a quiet farewell. Atchley provides transport, cremation by a licensed crematory, urn selection, and return of remains — all with the same care as any full service.
For families who prefer a single, gathered ceremony in the open air. Atchley handles transport, coordinates with the cemetery, and provides seating and canopy. An officiant can be arranged through our network.
We coordinate every aspect of a military funeral — from VA benefits paperwork through the final flag presentation. For East Tennessee veterans, burial at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery can be arranged.
The Smoky Mountains draw people from across the country. When family members have already returned home — or cannot travel — we broadcast the service live via a private link. We also maintain an online condolence wall so that friends everywhere can leave their words for the family.
When the call comes at any hour, we answer. Our staff is always on call across all three chapels — Sevierville, Seymour, and Pigeon Forge. We bring your loved one into our care immediately, and a director will sit with your family the following morning to begin arrangements without pressure.
In accordance with the FTC Funeral Rule, Atchley Funeral Home provides a General Price List to every family upon request — by phone, in person, or by mail. We are happy to provide itemised pricing for any service before you make any commitment.
We believe that honest pricing is an act of respect. Call us at (865) 453‑2835 and a director will walk through every cost with you at no obligation.
We are available across all three chapels, twenty‑four hours a day. A conversation costs nothing.
